Simmons kids beautyrest ultra

Posted by admin on Sunday Nov 14, 2010 Under kids furniture

The Simmons Beautyrest line of mattresses is marketed to feature an innovative pocketed coil spring system, giving the innerspring mattress more of a memory foam feel because it contours to the body. Also, because the springs are separate, they keep each sleeper’s movement separate and undetected.

Positive Features

According to Mattress-Advisor, the Beautyrest ultra firm gets positive reviews over traditional innerspring mattresses for its motion separation technology, its overall comfort and ability to conform to the body and its edge support that enables it to maintain its form across the

Negative Features

Long-term durability and overall comfort of the Simmons Beautyrest line, notes Sleep Like the Dead, does not appear to stand up to memory foam, water or air mattresses. In addition, customers find that the Beautyrest line is typically more expensive than its innerspring competitors while still having sagging issues and little to no firmness adjustability.

Types

The Beautyrest line features a variety of choices ranging from the most inexpensive classic model to the high-end Black line. Mattress-Advisor indicates the diversity of the line allows consumers to purchase at a variety of price points, with the differences being the kind of foam used, the amount of springs used and the level of edge support available.

Why it’s a best pick:

Plush pillow-top feature will give you the feel of being in your own bed. Standing 12 inches fully inflated, this air mattress can hold up to 750 pounds. The hands-free electric pump makes inflating a deflating quick an easy, while the carrying bag provides a simple storage option. The Beautyrest also features a wider foundation which gives greater balanced support. Plus, this mattress has symmetrical support walls to afford you additional lumbar support. Though this mattress is puncture resistant, it’s not recommended for outside use. Yet, this is a sturdy indoor air mattress that should stand up well to years of wear and tear.

Manufacturer Description

You don’t have to sleep in your own bed to enjoy a good night’s rest. The MM03717QN Ultra Flex Express Queen Bed by Simmons is the perfect substitute for your bed or even your guest’s bed at home. The plush 12-Inch raised pillowtop raises you high off the floor like a traditional mattress with superior pillowtop comfort. The unique design features symmetrical support walls that provide a smooth and even sleep surface in every direction, precise posture alignment, and lumbar support.

Kids Aeroplane Bedroom

Posted by admin on Sunday Sep 26, 2010 Under kids furniture

Making kid’s bedroom more fun

Here’s airplane decor ideas for those budding pilots in the family. Blue sky and fluffy clouds is what I think of when I think airplanes. Behr Paint has a color called Blue Glass that’s the perfect shade of sky blue. I’ve use it before, and sponged watered down white paint over it to add atmosphere and clouds.

If your child is a little older, maybe you could do some model airplanes together, and hang them from the ceiling. I love the Fantasy Flyer ceiling fan shown here. If this style of plane works in your kids room, then you gotta get one of them! As an alternate, if you go on Ebay, you’ll find custom painted fan blades that will have airplane theme designs on them that may coordinate better with the look you’re going for.

If you can get your hands on an old propeller hang it on the wall just for the looks, or if it’s not a collectible piece, screw some clothing hooks into it and use for hanging up jackets, hats and robes.

Walls and Floors

There are several ways to use the walls and floors to bring an airplane motif into a kids’ room design.

Use self-adhesive wall borders with vintage airplanes around the room at ceiling level, or create an artificial chair rail with airplane wall borders for a minor accent with big impact. For a bigger impact, choose one wall and paint a mural featuring vintage airplanes or choose a wallpaper with a sky and plane motif.

The simplest floor design option is to put down an area rug patterned with airplanes and clouds. When or if the child outgrows the airplane design, the rug can be rolled up and tucked away. If parents are willing to put a bit more work into the design, a stenciled border of different airplane styles can be a dramatic accent in a child’s bedroom.

The most important things to keep in mind when designing a room with an airplane motif is that floors and walls are a framework and a canvas. Children change their minds, and walls and floors are the most difficult part of the design to change when that happens.

Bedding and Window Dressing

When deciding how prominent to make airplanes on the bed or the windows, keep balance in mind. If the walls feature an all-over airplane print or mural, choose a more subtle print, pattern or solid for the comforter and window treatments. If the walls, ceiling and floors are plain, or if the only airplane accent is in a wall border, go bolder with airplanes on the bed and the curtains.

The windows and bed compete for billing as the second-largest canvas in a bedroom. A quilt or comforter with airplane appliques on the bed is a very quick, inexpensive way to extend the airplane theme in a kids’ room.

If the walls are busy, though, consider a couple of throw pillows with airplane appliques instead.
Window treatments likewise offer many subtle ways to bring airplanes into the bedroom decoration.

Consider mini-blinds or solid color curtains with airplane-patterned valances, or cut wooden valances for each window and paint with brightly colored planes and clouds.

Details and Airplane Wall Decor

Even a plain, basic room will come to life with airplane wall-hangings and artwork. Name plaques in wood, metal or resin can add both a personal note and a touch of jaunty aeronautics while a lamp with an airplane base can transition from an infant’s nursery to a young boy’s room.

For an older boy, consider hanging scale model airplanes from the ceiling on fishing line, or displaying a treasured collection of airplane memorabilia on custom built shelves. Other airplane-themed design accents for teen and tween bedrooms include wall clocks with airplane pictures and posters of vintage and futuristic airplanes.

Flexibility and Growth Potential

Use an age-neutral background for the larger parts of the design theme, and fill in with airplane-themed accessories and decorations that are appropriate for the child’s age. That way, as the child grows, parents can change the wall hangings or bedspreads and grow the room up along with the child.

kids aeroplane wall stickers

Posted by admin on Sunday Sep 26, 2010 Under kids furniture

The great kids wall stickers to appliques and make your kids bedroom or playroom a fun place to be.

When ?

If you want an original way to redecorate your home without having to paint or make holes in the wall, all you need are some vinyl wall stickers. These decals substitute for classic painted wallpaper.

Why ?

You must know that a kid’s room is their clubhouse, their castle and haven. As you watch you children grow and develop interests, you want their hobbies and imagination to be expressed.

Where ?

Wall graphics stickers are great for instantly transforming nursery or bedroom walls into a bright, colorful graphic scene any kid would love without touching a paint brush!

How ?

1- Prepare the surface. Clean and dry surface thoroughly before applying any sort of vinyl sticker. If the wall is freshly painted, wait a couple of days until the surface has absorbed the paint.
2- Prepare your design. Before peeling off the backing, move the sticker around and change its position. When you see it on the wall, you’ll get a sense of how it’ll look and you may get new ideas.
3- Rub the back of the sticker with a credit card, a spatula, or with your hands before you peel it off.
4- Carefully peel off the top of the paper stuck to the back of the vinyl.
5- Apply the vinyl wall sticker. It’ll look better if you hold down the corners and carefully smooth out the rest of the vinyl wall sticker as you press down on it (in order to prevent air bubbles from forming) and then slowly peel off the back.
6- Peel off the front of the sticker. It’s a thin transparent layer that serves to protect the sticker so it won’t be damaged inside the box.
7- You’ve successfully applied your vinyl wall sticker. If air bubbles appear, you can easily remove them by poking them with a needle.

What ?

You must choose the right design for your kid, the most beautifull wall stickers is the aeroplane wall stickers but there is so many cool designs that makes kids happy.

Pottery Barn Baby Bassinets

Posted by admin on Wednesday Jul 14, 2010 Under kids furniture

A bassinet or bassinette is a bed specifically for babies from birth to about four months, and small enough to provide a “cocoon” that small babies find comforting. In some parts of the more developed world, such as Australia, a bassinet is also the term for a baby bouncing device used to relax a baby when it is going to sleep.

Keter Baby Bath Seat

Posted by admin on Wednesday Jul 14, 2010 Under kids furniture

Bath time is a fun time in which baby and caregiver bond. It is also a time that can be potentially dangerous to your baby. Inattention to little details can spell tragedy in a few seconds. Taking a few precautions will ensure that bath time for your baby is an enjoyable time that does not turn into a heartbreaking situation.

1. Children can drown within seconds. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, “About two-thirds of drowning deaths (in children) in the home, not including swimming pools, occur in bathtubs.” Less than two inches of water are needed for a baby to drown. Never leave your baby alone, even if you think she is propped up properly. Create a checklist that you reference as you prepare for bath time. Have all materials needed for the bath within easy reach of your hands during the bath. Let the phone ring while you are bathing your baby. If you have to answer the door, take your baby with you.

2. Bath seats are seats that your baby can either sit or recline in while you bathe her. Never lift the bath seat while the baby is in it. Doing so may cause you to drop him. Check to see if the bottom of the tub is clean and has no remnants of residue before placing the bath seat in it. Test the suction cups and make sure they adhere to the tub before you place the baby in the bath seat. Do not leave your child alone, even if he is in a bath seat.

3. When the new baby  comes, the older brothers and sisters naturally want to be a part of every new activity with the baby. Taking a bath together can start a tradition that can last for years to come. Take care when allowing others to bathe your baby. Younger children should not be allowed to bathe the baby. Let them help you by handing the supplies you need for the bath. Teenagers can be permitted to bathe the baby under supervision. Bathe the baby before the baby-sitter comes for the evening. If you are uncomfortable with a relative bathing your baby, tell him that you prefer to take care of bath time yourself.
